The Humboldt Verlag ( own spelling humboldt Verlag , also humboldt Ratgeber ) is a German advice publisher based in Hanover . It is a trademark of Schlüterschen Verlagsgesellschaft . The publisher publishes around 40 books a year.

history

At the end of 1953 the first humboldt paperback was published by Lebendiges Wissen (Gebr. Weiss Verlag, Berlin). Langenscheidt Verlag took over the humboldt book program in the early 1970s . The logo with the red dot, which still exists today, was developed around the mid-1970s and established in the book trade. In 2000 humboldt was taken over by the Austrian Koch International group. The publishing team was dismissed after only six months and the publishing house “rested” (only a few new products) until the beginning of 2003, when it was restarted as an independent humboldt Verlags GmbH. In 2007 the Schlütersche Verlagsgesellschaft acquired humboldt Verlag.
