The men's 800-meter run at the 1954 European Athletics Championships was held from August 25 to 28, 1954 in the Neufeld stadium in Bern .

The Hungarian Lajos Szentgáli became European champion . He won ahead of the Belgian Lucien De Muynck. Bronze went to the Norwegian Audun Boysen .
