The 10,000-meter run for women at the 1990 European Athletics Championships was held on August 30, 1990 in the Poljud stadium in Split .

Jelena Romanowa from the USSR became the European champion in the runner-up of the final over 3000 meters two days earlier . Before the third in the 1987 World Cup, she won Kathrin Ullrich from the GDR. Third place went to Annette Sergent from France .
