Paula Dunn
Paula Dunn , MBE (temporarily Paula Thomas ; born December 3, 1964 in Bradford ) is a former British sprinter .
Life
In 1986 she won silver over 100 m and gold with the English team in the 4 x 100 meter relay at the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh . At the European Athletics Championships in Stuttgart , she came seventh over 100 m and fifth in the British 4 x 100 meter relay. In 1987 she was sixth over 60 m at the European Indoor Championships in Liévin and was eliminated from the semi-finals at the World Athletics Championships in Rome .
At the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988, she reached the quarter-finals over 100 m and the semi- finals over 200 m and in the 4-by-100-meter relay. The following year she was fourth over 60 m at the European Indoor Championships in 1989 in The Hague.
In 1990 she was eighth over 100 m and fifth over 200 m at the Commonwealth Games in Auckland . With the English 4 x 100 meter relay, she won silver. At the European Championships in Split , she was eliminated in the semi-finals over 100 m and won bronze with the British relay. At the 1991 World Cup in Tokyo, she was eliminated over 100 m in the quarter-finals.
In 1993 she came in eighth place in the relay at the World Championships in Stuttgart . In 1994 she won bronze at the Commonwealth Games in Victoria over 100 m and in the 4 x 100 m relay and was fourth over 200 m. At the European Championships in Helsinki she did not get beyond the semi-finals over 100 m and 200 m; with the British relay she took fifth place.
At the World Championships in Gothenburg she reached the quarter-finals over 100 m and the semi-finals over 200 m. She had to do without participation in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta after she had to undergo an ovariectomy and appendectomy .
In November 2012 she was appointed head coach of the Paralympic team by the UK Athletics Association (UKA) .
