Sandra Myers (born January 9, 1961 in Little River ) is a former Spanish athlete who specialized in the 400-meter run .

She was born in the United States and became the US champion in the 400-meter hurdles in 1981 . In 1987 she changed her citizenship and has since competed in international championships for Spain. At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, she competed in the 100-meter run , but failed in the preliminary round. Myers won a total of 19 Spanish championships outdoors and indoors on various sprint courses from 60 m to 400 m as well as in the long jump .

Internationally, she first drew attention to herself at the European Athletics Championships in Split in 1990 , when she came fourth in the 200-meter run and finished sixth in the 4-by-100-meter relay . Her final breakthrough came with winning the silver medal in the 400-meter run at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Seville in 1991 . Almost six months later, she celebrated the most important success of her career at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo . Over 400 m she won the bronze medal in 49.78 s behind Marie-José Perec (49.13 s) and Grit Breuer (49.42 s).

In 1992, Myers won the title in the 400-meter run at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Genoa . Over the same distance she was fourth at the indoor world championships in Toronto and sixth outdoors at the world championships in Stuttgart the following year .

After that, Myers did not quite succeed in building on her old achievements. At the IAAF World Indoor Championships in 1995 in Barcelona, ​​at the World Athletics Championships in 1995 in Gothenburg and at the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996 , she reached the semi-finals but could not qualify for the finals. Her last international success was winning the title in the 200-meter run at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Stockholm in 1996 . After the Olympic Games in 1996, she ended her career.
