Jelica Pavličić

Jelica Pavličić (born February 4, 1954 in Slunj ), married Jelica Štefančić , is a former Yugoslav sprinter who had specialized in the 400-meter run .

In 1974 she won the European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg and was eighth at the European Championships in Rome . The following year she won silver over 100 meters and gold over 400 meters at the Mediterranean Games and bronze over 200 and 400 meters at the Universiade .

In 1976 she won silver at the European Indoor Championships in Munich and was eliminated from the preliminary stages at the Olympic Games in Montreal .

A bronze medal at the European Indoor Championships in San Sebastián in 1977 was followed by defending the title over 400 meters at the Mediterranean Games in 1979.

Five times she was Yugoslav champion over 100 meters (1971, 1973-1976), six times over 200 meters (1972-1977), five times over 400 meters (1974-1977, 1979) and once over 400 meter hurdles (1977).

Note: Although she started at the time of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia , Jelica Pavličić, born in today's Croatia, holds the national records of Croatia .
