Thomas Zippert

Thomas Zippert (born July 20, 1961 in Marburg ) is a German Protestant theologian , former holder of the Chair of Diakonics at the Diakonie University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld and .Coordinator on the subject of "Sexual violence" of the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck .

Career

He is a son of Christian Zippert , the former bishop of the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck . After studying Protestant theology in Marburg , Heidelberg , Jerusalem and Munich , he was ordained in Lippoldsberg on April 25, 1993 and worked as a parish priest in the Eschwege parish . He wrote his dissertation in 1992 on the theologian Johann Gottfried Herder . From 1997 Thomas Zippert was director of studies for pastors' training in the first years of office at the Hofgeismar seminary . From 2002 he was head of the academy for social professions in the Hessian Diakoniezentrum Hephata in Schwalmstadt . In 2009 he was a candidate for the office of regional bishop of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany , but was defeated by the Stuttgart senior church councilor Ilse Junkermann . From January 1, 2011 to January 31, 2019, Zippert was Professor of Diakonics at the Diakonie University of Applied Sciences in Bethel , of which he was Rector from May 2013 to April 2015. He was also pastor of the local Evangelical Institution Church Community (Zionsgemeinde). On February 1, 2019, Zippert was appointed pastor of a regional church project agency "Coordinator on the topic of sexual violence".

Zippert is an active member of the voluntary fire brigade and active in emergency pastoral care. He is married and has three children.
