Denisa Rosolová (born Ščerbová * 21st August 1986 in Karviná ) is a former Czech athlete whose main disciplines of long jump and heptathlon were until the 400-meter and 400-meter hurdles changed. She was European indoor champion in 2011 on the flat course and vice-European champion in 2012 over the hurdles.

Athletic career

In 2004 Rosolová was junior world champion in the long jump and was able to qualify in this discipline for the Olympic Games in Athens , but was eliminated in the qualification. In the heptathlon of the European Championships in 2006 , she gave up injured. In 2007 she won the bronze medal in the long jump at the European Indoor Championships in Birmingham , but did not get beyond the preliminary round at the World Championships in Osaka .

At the Olympic Games in Beijing , she gave up in the heptathlon after two disciplines and failed in the qualification of the long jump competition. In 2009 she was tenth in the pentathlon at the European Indoor Championships in Turin . At the World Indoor Championships in 2010 , Rosolová won the bronze medal with the Czech 4 x 400 meter relay . In Barcelona she reached the finals over 400 meters at the European Championships and was fifth.

In 2011 Rosolová was European Indoor Champion with a personal best in Paris . At the world championships in the same year, she reached seventh place with the relay. In 2012 she took sixth place at the World Indoor Championships . In the open air season she started at the European Championships in Helsinki over the 400 meter hurdles and won the silver medal and also the bronze medal with the Czech relay. Shortly thereafter, she took seventh place at the Olympic Games in London over the hurdles and with the relay.

In March 2013 Rosolová won the bronze medal in the 4-by-400-meter relay at the European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden . At the World Championships in Moscow she reached the semifinals in the hurdles and was eliminated with the Czech relay in the preliminary round. In 2014 she reached the semi-finals at the World Indoor Championships in Sopot and just barely missed a medal at the European Championships in Zurich as fourth over the hurdles. In 2015 Rosolová finished sixth over 400 meters at the European Indoor Championships in Prague and finished fourth in the relay. At the World Championships in Beijing , she reached the semifinals again , as well as at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .

In 2017 Rosolová took part in the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade , but was eliminated there in the preliminary round. She fell due to a bump of the eventual winner Floria Gueï and had to be carried out of the hall with minor injuries.

In 2008 she married the Czech tennis player Lukáš Rosol . The marriage was divorced again in 2011, but Rosolová continues under her new name. In 2017 she received a marriage proposal from her boyfriend, the Czech decathlete Adam Sebastian Helcelet, at the Czech sports gala . At the end of November, Rosolová announced her pregnancy and the end of her career.
