Taťána Kocembová (after marriage to Slaninová ; born May 2, 1962 in Ostrava ) is a former Czechoslovak sprinter . In 1983 she was runner-up in the 400-meter run and in the 4-by-400-meter relay .

Life

After becoming champion of Czechoslovakia in the 400-meter run in 1981 , she took part in her first major championship at the European Indoor Championships in Milan in 1982. In 51.62 seconds she was fourth, 0.05 seconds behind Gaby Bußmann , who won bronze. Outdoors she won in 1982 at the state championship in the 100-meter run and in the 200-meter run . At the European Championships in Athens in 1982 , she competed in the 400-meter run and won bronze in 50.55 seconds, 2.4 seconds behind the world record-running Marita Koch and 1.7 seconds behind Jarmila Kratochvílová. In the 4 x 400 meter relay she ran in third position behind Věra Tylová and Milena Matějkovičová ; she even handed over to Kratochvílová, who secured silver behind the relay from the GDR after 3: 22.17 minutes.

1983 Taťána Kocembová was again national champion over 200 meters. At the World Championships in Helsinki in 1983 , she competed again over 400 meters. Kratochvilová won with a world record time of 47.99 seconds ahead of Kocembová, who ran a personal best in 48.59 seconds. In the season she started, handed over to Matějkovičová, followed by Zuzana Moravčíková and Kratochvilová. This quartet was able to reduce the gap to the GDR from three seconds in Athens to 0.6 seconds and again won silver.

At the European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg in 1984, Kocembová won in 49.97 seconds. In the 1984 outdoor season, she again won the state championship over 200 meters. On the 400-meter course she was able to defeat Kratochvilová for the first time, her best time of the year was 48.73 seconds in Prague. She could not take part in the Olympic Games in Los Angeles because the ČSSR joined the Olympic boycott of the Soviet Union. In 1985 she won the national championship title over 100 meters. In 1986 she was fourth over 400 meters at the European Indoor Championships in Madrid in 53.16 seconds, and outdoors she was once again champion of the ČSSR over 200 meters.

After their marriage and the birth of their daughter in 1987, she competed as Taisterschaftána Slaninová at the European Indoor Championships in The Hague in 1989 and finished fifth in 54.16 seconds.

With a height of 1.69 m, her competition weight was 55 kg.
