Ulrike Sarvari

Ulrike Sarvari (* 22. June 1964 in Heidelberg ) is a former German track and field athlete who on the Sprint specialized. In 1990 she was double European champion in the hall.

Life

She is the daughter of Waltraud Groß , who was German champion with the 4 x 100 meter relay in 1960 . Sarvari became German junior champion over 200 meters in 1985.

In the adult area, she won the German championship in 1986 with the Sindelfingen 4 x 200 meter relay in the hall and the 4 x 100 meter relay outdoors. In the same year Sarvari was nominated for the European Championships in Stuttgart, where she was eliminated over 100 meters in the intermediate run. In the following year she became German champion six times, three times each indoors (60, 200 and 4 x 200 meters) and outdoors (100, 200 and 4 x 100 meters). At the World Championships in Rome, she came fifth in 43.20 s with the German relay team. In the individual, she was eliminated in the intermediate run over 100 and 200 meters.

In 1988 Sarvari won the national title over 60 meters indoors and was fourth on this track at the European Indoor Championships in Budapest. In the open-air season, she became German champion over 100 and 4 x 100 meters. At the Olympic Games in Seoul, she reached the 100-meter semifinals and fourth place with the 4-by-100-meter relay in 42.76 s.

In the following year, Sarvari won the German championship in the indoor arena with the Sindelfingen 4 x 200 meter relay and at the indoor world championships in Budapest she ran over 60 meters in sixth place. At the German outdoor championships, she won over 100 and 4 times 100 meters.

In 1990 she was three-time German indoor champion over 60, 200 and 4 x 200 meters. Sarvari crowned the indoor season with her victories over 60 and 200 meters at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow. For the fourth time in a row she was German champion over 100 meters outdoors. At the European Championships in Split, where the Federal Republic and the GDR competed separately for the last time, she won the silver medal behind the GDR relay in the 4 x 100 meter relay with the West German team (43.2 s: Gabriele Lippe , Ulrike Sarvari, Andrea Thomas , Silke-Beate Knoll ). In the 100-meter run, she finished seventh in 11.41 s. Sarvari won her last German championship title in 1992 indoors and outdoors with the relay. In 1993 she resigned.

Ulrike Sarvari started for SG Walldorf Astoria, USC Heidelberg , VfL Sindelfingen and MTG 1899 Mannheim . During her competition time she was 1.63 m tall and 50 kg. She studied textile design at the Stuttgart Art Academy .
