Sabine Günther , born Sabine Rieger (born November 6, 1963 in Jena ), is a German athlete who was one of the world's best sprinters in the 1980s, starting for the GDR . She was three times in a row European champion with the 4 x 100 meter relay of the GDR: 1982, 1986 and 1990. Until August 2012 she was co-owner of the world record in the 4 x 100 meter run: At the World Cup in Canberra on October 6, 1985 it ran together with Silke Gladisch , Marlies Göhr and Ingrid Auerswald for a time of 41.37 s.
