Käthe Krauss (actually Katharina Anna Krauss ; born November 29, 1906 in Dresden ; † January 9, 1970 in Mannheim ) was a German athlete and third party at the Olympic Games.

As a participant in the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, she won the bronze medal in the 100-meter run in 11.9 seconds behind the American Helen Stephens (gold) and the Polish Stanisława Walasiewicz (silver). In the 4 x 100 meter relay she ran a world record with the German relay in the lead (46.4 s). In the final, the German relay team in the lead failed to hand over the baton from Marie Dollinger to Ilse Dörffeldt , the final runner , and the relay team had to give up.

As early as 1934, Käthe Krauß won three gold medals at the 4th Women's World Games : in the 100-meter run (11.9 s), in the 200-meter run (24.9 s) and with the 4 x 100 meters -Staffel (48.6 s, together with Margarete Kuhlmann , Marie Dollinger and Selma Grieme ). In the discus , she was third (39.87 m).

At the European Championships in 1938 , Käthe Krauss won the silver medal over 100 meters (12.0 s) and over 200 meters (24.4 s). As the second runner in the German 4 x 100 meter relay, she was European champion (46.8 s, together with Josefine Kohl , Emmy Albus and Ida Kühnel ).

Käthe Krauss started for the Dresdner SC and trained with Woldemar Gerschler . When she competed, she was 1.76 m tall and weighed 72 kg. In 1947 she moved from Dresden to Landau , where she worked as a trainer in the 1950s. She was also a pianist and owned a sporting goods store.
