Marie Dollinger
Marie Dollinger (born October 28, 1910 in Langenzenn ; † August 10, 1994 in Nuremberg ) was a German athlete .
Participation
Marie Dollinger is the only German athlete before 1945 who took part in the Olympic Games three times . However, she always had bad luck. In 1928 she was tactically too immature, in 1931 she set the world record in the 800-meter run with 2: 16.8 minutes , but then this route was abolished for women. In 1932 she was the only German sprinter sent to the Olympics in Los Angeles . So she had to run in the 4 x 100 meter relay with a shot put and two javelin throwers. At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin , the 4-by-100-meter relay with Emmy Albus , Käthe Krauss , Marie Dollinger, Ilse Dörffeldt set a world record in the run-up, but in the final - when they were clearly in the lead - fell with last change of staff. In the individual races she was beaten by runners whose eligibility to start in women's competitions was strongly doubted.
Marie Dollinger-Hendrix remained without an Olympic medal. Her husband Friedrich Hendrix won silver in the 4 x 100 meter relay in 1932, and their daughter, Brunhilde Hendrix , also won silver in the same competition in 1960 .
