Bärbel Podeswa

Bärbel Podeswa (born Weidlich ; born December 8, 1946 in Naumburg (Saale) ) is a former German hurdler and sprinter who started for the GDR in the 1960s .

Life

In 1968 she won silver in the 50 meter hurdles at the European Indoor Games in Madrid .

At the European Athletics Championships in Athens in 1969 , she won the gold medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay with the GDR team in 43.6 s (together with Renate Meißner , Regina Höfer and Petra Vogt ) and came second in the 100 -Meter hurdles (13.6 s).

Bärbel Podeswa is 1.60 m tall and weighed 56 kg during her active time. She started for the SC Chemie Halle . In 1970 she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze.
