Naomi Sedney (born December 17, 1994 in Zoetermeer ) is a Dutch sprinter .

Career

In 2011 Naomi Sedney won the relay gold medal at the European Youth Festival. In 2012, she also reached the finals of the Junior World Championships with the relay and took sixth place there. The following year she won the bronze medal at the Junior European Championships . At the U23 European Championships in 2015 in Tallinn , Estonia , she just missed a medal in fourth place over 100 meters and with the relay. However, with her achievements for these two disciplines, she was able to qualify for the 2015 World Championships. In both competitions, however, she was eliminated in the preliminary round.

At the 2016 European Championships in Amsterdam , the city ​​of her birth , she won the relay gold medal with a new national record and thus celebrated her greatest success to date. Over 100 meters, she reached the semi-finals with a season best. At the Olympic Games , she failed with the Dutch relay in the preliminary round.

Sedney studies psychology at the University of Leiden .
