Danuta Straszyńska ( Danuta Julia Straszyńska, married Kossek; born February 4, 1942 in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski ) is a former Polish hurdler and sprinter .

In 1965 she won at the Universiade on 80 m hurdles . At the European Athletics Championships in Budapest in 1966, she won the 4-by-100-meter relay and was seventh in the 80 m hurdles .

In 1968 she was sixth over the 80 m hurdles at the Olympic Games in Mexico City and was eliminated from the 4 x 100 meter relay in the preliminary run.

In 1971 she was fifth over 60 m hurdles at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Sofia and fourth over 100 m hurdles at the European Championships in Helsinki .

At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, she came in sixth place over 100 m hurdles .

In 1971 and 1972 she became Polish champion over 100 m hurdles and in 1971 over 200 m hurdles. In 1966 she became the English champion in the 80 m hurdles.
