Jelysaweta Wiktoriwna Bryshina ( Ukrainian Єлизавета Вікторівна Бризгіна , English transcription Yelyzaveta Bryzhina ; born November 28, 1989 in Luhansk , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Ukrainian sprinter . She was European champion with the 4 x 100 meter relay.

Athletic career

In 2007 she became vice European junior champion over 200 meters . In 2009 she started at the European Indoor Championships over 60 meters, but was eliminated in the preliminary run.

In 2010 Bryshina won the Super League of the European Team Championship over 200 meters. At the European Championships in Barcelona , she won the silver medal over the same distance and gold with the Ukrainian team in the 4 x 100 meter relay . At the 2010 Continental Cup , she again came second on the 200-meter course.

At the Universiade 2011 Bryshina won the gold medal in the relay, in the individual run she was fourth. In 2012, she ran at the World Indoor Championships as a starting runner in the 4 x 400 meter relay . The Ukrainians initially finished fourth, but because Bryshina accidentally brought down a Belarusian at the first move, they were disqualified. In London Bryshina reached the semifinals at the Olympic Games over 200 meters, she was more successful with the 4 x 100 meter relay, with which she won the bronze medal in a new national record time.

In 2013, Bryshina was tested for the banned substance drostanolone at the World Championships and then banned until summer 2015.

At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , she was able to qualify both over 200 meters and with the Ukrainian 4 x 100 meter relay. Due to her specialty, she was eliminated in advance. The season reached sixth place in the final.

Jelysaweta Bryshina is the daughter of two Olympic champions from 1988: Wiktor Bryshin (4-by-100-meter relay) and Olha Wladykina-Bryshina (400-meter run, 4-by-400-meter relay). Her younger sister Anastasija Bryshina is also successful as a sprinter.
