Maria Piątkowska (born Ilwicka, divorced Chojnacka; born February 24, 1931 in Goleni , Moldova ) is a former Polish hurdler , long jumper , pentathlete and sprinter .

At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952, she was eliminated in the long jump and in the 4 x 100 meter relay in the first round.

In 1954, she was sixth in the long jump and pentathlon and fifth in the 4 x 100 meter relay at the European Athletics Championships in Bern .

Four years later, she won bronze at the 1958 European Championships in the Polish 4 x 100 meter relay. She was sixth in the long jump and ninth in the pentathlon.

At the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome, she finished eleventh in the long jump .

In 1962 she won bronze over 80 m hurdles and gold in the Polish 4 x 100 meter relay at the European Championships in Belgrade .

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, she came in sixth place over 80 m hurdles .

In 1963 she became Polish champion over 60 m hurdles.

She was married to the discus thrower Edmund Piątkowski .
