The men's 100-meter run at the 1938 European Athletics Championships was held on September 3, 1938 in the Stade Olympique in the French capital, Paris .

European champion was the Dutchman Martinus Osendarp , who won ahead of the Italian Orazio Mariani . Bronze went to Sweden's Lennart Strandberg .

Record improvements

The championship record that existed before these European championships has been improved several times:

The new championship record holders with 10.4 seconds were therefore Vice European Champion Orazio Mariani and Wil van Beveren, who came fourth in the final. In the finals, European champion Martinus Osendarp won with 10.5 seconds, the record from the second semi-final run remained after these European championships.
