Carlo Simionato

Carlo Simionato (born July 1, 1961 in Ravenna ) is a former Italian sprinter .

He celebrated his greatest success by winning the silver medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 1983 . The Italian relay in the line-up Stefano Tilli , Carlo Simionato, Pierfrancesco Pavoni and Pietro Mennea achieved a national record with a time of 38.37 s. Only the US relay was faster in this race and set a world record with 37.86 s.

In addition, Simionato took fourth place with relay at the European Athletics Championships in Athens in 1982 and fifth at the 1986 European Athletics Championships in Stuttgart. He started at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles in the 200-meter run and reached the semi-finals.

Carlo Simionato is 1.78 m tall and had a competition weight of 66 kg.
