Jason Gardener

Jason Gardener (born September 18, 1975 in Bath ) is a former British sprinter and relay Olympic champion .

His international career began in 1994 at the World Junior Athletics Championships when he won the silver medal in the 100-meter run . He had great successes in the following years, especially with the British 4 x 100 meter relay . The highlight was the Olympic victory together with Darren Campbell , Marlon Devonish and Mark Lewis-Francis at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens before the relay from the USA. He was the starting runner of the quartet.

At the World Championships in Helsinki in 2005 , he was eliminated over 100 meters in the semi-finals and won the bronze medal with the British sprint relay.

Gardener achieved his greatest individual successes to date in the hall in the 60-meter run : in 2004 he won the gold medal at the World Indoor Championships in Budapest , and he was also European Indoor Champion four times in a row (2000, 2002, 2005 and 2007) after winning silver in 1998 would have.

Gardener held the British indoor record in the 60-meter run with 6.46 s until 2009 and was, alongside Linford Christie and Dwain Chambers, the third Briton to run the 100 meters under 10 seconds (9.98 s).

Jason Gardener ended his career in the summer of 2007.

He had a competition weight of 70 kg with a height of 1.78 m.
