James Quinn (athlete)
James "Jimmy" Quinn (born September 9, 1906 in Brooklyn , New York , NY , † July 12, 2004 in Cranston , Rhode Island ) was an American athlete and Olympic champion .
A student at the College of the Holy Cross , a Jesuit college in Worcester , Massachusetts , Quinn won the IC4A championships over 100 yards in 1928 . In the same year he won the IX. At the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam, together with his teammates Frank Wykoff , Charles Borah and Henry Russell, he won the team gold medal with a new world record time of 41.0 s, ahead of the teams from Germany (silver) and Great Britain (bronze).
