Lorenzo Wright

Lorenzo Wright ( Lorenzo Christopher Wright ; born December 9, 1926 in Detroit , Michigan , † March 27, 1972 ibid) was an American athlete and Olympic champion .

In the 4-by-100-meter relay of the 1948 Olympic Games , he was the second runner on the US team to win the gold medal. In his actual specialty, the long jump , he reached only fourth place at the Games in London with 7.45 m after jumping 7.53 m in qualifying.

In 1948 and 1952 he won the US long jump championships.

Lorenzo Wright was 1.73 m tall and weighed 70 kg during his playing days. In 1972 he was shot by his wife.
