Ronald James "Ron" Brown (born March 31, 1961 in Los Angeles , California ) is a former American athlete and Olympic champion .

At the 1984 Olympics in his hometown, Brown finished fourth in 10.26 s in the 100-meter run . With the US 4 x 100 meter relay in the cast Sam Graddy , Ron Brown, Calvin Smith and Carl Lewis , he ran in the final with 37.83 s world record.

After the games he ended his career as a track and field athlete and became a professional wide receiver in American football . From 1984 to 1991 he played for the Los Angeles Rams with the exception of the 1990 season in which he competed for the Los Angeles Raiders .

At the 1984 Olympics, Brown was six feet tall and weighed 84 pounds.
