Louis Clarke
Louis Alfred "Pinky" Clarke (born November 23, 1901 in Statesville , North Carolina , † February 24, 1977 in Fishkill , New York ) was an American athlete and Olympic champion .
In 1923, as a student at Johns Hopkins University , Clarke won the NCAA championships over 100 yards . At the VIII Olympic Games in Paris in 1924 , he won the gold medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay race with a new world record, together with his teammates Loren Murchison , Frank Hussey and Alfred LeConey , ahead of the teams from Great Britain (silver) and the Netherlands (bronze).
