Regine Kleinau
Regine Kleinau , Heinicke (born October 4, 1946 in Chemnitz ), married from 1974 , is a German athlete who was a successful middle-distance runner in the 1960s and 1970s - starting for the GDR . On June 19, 1971, she set a world record of 2: 38.8 minutes in the 1000-meter run (after 1934 and before 1990, the IAAF did not set a world record for the route ).
She started at the European Athletics Championships in 1966, 1969 and 1971.
In 1967 she became GDR champion in the 800 meter run (2: 07.2 min). From 1969 to 1972 she set four GDR records in the 1,500-meter run (also all-German bests).
Regine Kleinau started for the SC DHfK Leipzig . She had a competition weight of 60 kg and was 1.73 m tall.
