Gert Metz

Gert Metz (born February 7, 1942 in Mainz ) is a former German athlete and Olympic participant who - starting for the Federal Republic - won the bronze medal with the German 4 x 100 meter relay at the European Championships in 1966 (39.8 p : Hans-Jürgen Felsen , Gert Metz, Dieter Enderlein , Manfred Knickenberg ). In the 100-meter run of these European championships, he was eliminated in the intermediate run.

Gert Metz also started at the Olympic Games in 1968 , but without medal success (100-meter run and 200-meter run : eliminated in the preliminary run; 4 x 100-meter relay: 6th place)

  • 1971: 3rd place in the 60-meter run (hall)

Gert Metz belonged to the USC Mainz sports club . During his competition time he was 1.76 m tall and weighed 72 kg.
