Don Halliday

Don Halliday (actually Donald George Halliday; born June 16, 1947 in Perth ) is a former British sprinter .

In 1969 he retired from the European Athletics Championships in Athens over 100 m and in the 4 x 100 meter relay in the preliminary run.

At the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh in 1970 , he came fourth in the Scottish 4 x 100 meter relay. Over 100 m he reached the semi-finals and over 200 m the quarter-finals. In 1971 he was fourth at the European Championships in Helsinki with the British 4 x 100 meter relay .

At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, he reached the quarter-finals over 100 m and the semi- finals in the 4 x 100 meter relay .

In 1974 he was fifth at the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch in the Scottish 4 x 100 meter relay. Over 100 m he was eliminated in the semifinals and over 200 m in the preliminary run. At the European Championships in Rome , he did not go beyond the first lap over 100 m and with the British 4 x 100 meter relay.

In 1973 he was English champion over 100 m and in 1971 and 1974 English indoor champion over 60 m . He was three times Scottish champion over 100 m (1969, 1973, 1974) and once over 200 m (1974).
