Hermann Burde

Hermann Burde (born February 19, 1943 in Rheinsberg , Brandenburg ) is a former German athlete who - starting for the GDR - was a successful sprinter in the 1960s .

Life

His greatest success came at the European Championships in 1969 with the silver medal in the 200-meter run (20.9 s). Further results at these European championships: fifth place in the 100-meter run (10.7 s), fifth place with the GDR's 4 x 100-meter relay (39.6 s). He also started in the 4 x 100 meter relay at the European Championships in 1966 (fourth place) and 1971 (disqualified).

Hermann Burde started for the ASK Potsdam . When he competed, he was 1.80 m tall and weighed 75 kg. After his career he became a coach at his club.
