Lars Larsson (athlete)

Lars Axel Larsson (born June 17, 1911 in Lidingö ; † January 29, 1993 ibid) was a Swedish athlete .

At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, Larsson was sixth in the 3000 meter obstacle course in 9: 16.6 minutes . He was seven seconds behind third-placed Alfred Dompert . Two years later at the European Championships in Paris he won in 9: 16.2 minutes with a three-second lead over Ludwig Kaindl .

From 1936 to 1940 he was five times in a row Swedish champion in the obstacle course. He improved the Swedish record three times, most recently to 9: 07.0 minutes. In 1938 and 1940 he was second in the world annual best list.

As an active athlete, Lars Larsson was 1.80 m tall and weighed 70 kg.
