Alfred Dompert
Alfred Dompert (born December 24, 1914 in Stuttgart ; † August 11, 1991 ibid) was a German athlete and Olympic medalist who won the bronze medal in the 3,000-meter obstacle course at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin (9: 07.2 min) . Dompert's bronze medal was the only Olympic medal for a German runner in a single discipline at the 1936 Olympic Games. In 1937, 1947 and 1950 Dompert was the German obstacle course champion. In 1934 he won a German championship with the 4 × 1500 m relay . Dompert started for the Stuttgarter Kickers . At a height of 1.72 m, he weighed 62 kg.
In 1950 he was the first recipient of the Rudolf Harbig Memorial Prize .
