The men's decathlon at the 2016 European Athletics Championships took place on July 6th and 7th, 2016 in the Olympic Stadium in the Dutch capital, Amsterdam .

Belgian Thomas Van Der Plaetsen became European champion . Silver went to Adam Sebastian Helcelet from the Czech Republic . The Serb Mihail Dudaš won the bronze medal.

The rating was based on the 1985 point table, which is still valid today.
