The men's triple jump at the 2016 European Athletics Championships was held on July 7th and 9th, 2016 in the Olympic Stadium in the Dutch capital, Amsterdam .

European champion was the German Max Hess . He won ahead of the Pole Karol Hoffmann . Bronze went to the Briton Julian Reid .

qualification

July 7, 2016, 1:10 p.m.

27 participants competed in two groups for the qualifying round. The qualification distance for the direct entry into the final was 16.65 m. Five athletes exceeded this mark (highlighted in light blue). The final field was filled with the next seven athletes to twelve jumpers (highlighted in light green). So finally 16.45 m had to be achieved to take part in the finals.
