The men's triple jump at the 1974 European Athletics Championships was held on September 8, 1974 in the Olympic Stadium in Rome .

European champion of the Olympic champion was 1968 / 1972 , European champions in 1969 and European Vice Champion of 1971 Viktor Sanejew from the Soviet Union. Second place went to the Romanian European Championship third from 1971 Carol Corbu . Andrzej Sontag from Poland won the bronze medal.

qualification

Due to the small number of only fifteen participants, the qualification planned for September 8th, 9:00 a.m., was canceled. All three jumpers competed in the final in the afternoon of the same day.
