The women's long jump at the 1974 European Athletics Championships was held on September 2 and 3, 1974 in the Olympic Stadium in Rome .

European champion was the Hungarian Ilona Bruzsenyák . She won before the Czechoslovak Olympic third party from 1972 Eva Šuranová . Bronze went to the Finn Pirkko Helenius.
