The women's long jump at the European Athletics Championships 2016 was held on July 6th and 8th, 2016 in the Olympic Stadium in the Dutch capital, Amsterdam .

European champion was the Serbian vice-European champion of 2014 and two-time World Cup -Third ( 2013 / 2015 ) Ivana Španović . She won ahead of the British Jazmin Sawyers . Bronze went to the German Malaika Mihambo .

qualification

July 6, 2016, 6:40 p.m.

25 participants competed in two groups for the qualification round. The qualification distance for the direct entry into the final was 6.60 m. Three athletes exceeded this mark (highlighted in light blue). The final field was filled with the nine athletes placed next to twelve jumpers (highlighted in light green). In the end, 6.46 m had to be achieved to take part in the finals.
