The women's 100 meter hurdles at the 2016 European Athletics Championships took place on July 6th and 7th, 2016 in the Olympic Stadium in the Dutch capital, Amsterdam .

European champion was the German vice world champion in 2015 and European championship third in 2014, Cindy Roleder . She won ahead of the Belarusian European champion from 2012 and World Cup third from 2015, Alina Talaj . Bronze went to the British defending champion and third place in the 2013 World Cup, Tiffany Porter . Compared to the last European Championships, the first and third swapped places this time.

For this discipline, a new competition mode was used for the first time. The eleven strongest athletes on the European annual best list did not have to compete in the preliminary round, but only entered in the semi-finals.

The preliminary round was held in four runs. The first two athletes per run - highlighted in light blue - as well as the five fastest runners - highlighted in light green - qualified for the semi-finals.
