Isabelle Sandstedt Pedersen (born January 27, 1992 in Bergen ) is a Norwegian hurdler who specializes in the 100 meter distance .
Athletic career
Isabelle Pedersen competed in her first international championship at the 2008 Junior World Championships in Bydgoszcz , Poland , where she reached the semi-finals. In 2009 she won the gold medal at the World Youth Championships and silver at the European Junior Championships in Novi Sad, Serbia . The following year she won another gold medal, this time at the Junior World Championships in Moncton . In 2011 she again won the silver medal at the European Junior Championships . In 2012 she took part in the European Championships in Helsinki for the first time and was eliminated there in the preliminary round. Over 60 meter hurdles she was eliminated in the semifinals of the 2013 European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg . She won the gold medal at the U23 European Championships during the outdoor season and qualified for the World Championships in Moscow , where she was eliminated in the preliminary round.
In 2014 she won the European Team Championship (2nd division) in Tallinn for Norway. In 2015 she finished fifth at the European Indoor Championships in Prague . At the 2015 World Championships in Beijing , she made it to the semifinals with a new record . In 2016 she reached the semifinals at the European Championships in Amsterdam , as well as at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro a few weeks later. At the European Indoor Championships in 2017 , she again achieved fifth place. In April Pedersen ran in the United States for 12.89 s and qualified for the World Championships in London , where she was eliminated in the semifinals with 12.87 s .
In 2018 she qualified for the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham , where she finished sixth in the final with 7.94 s.
Isabelle was the Norwegian hurdler champion in 2011 and between 2013 and 2016 and the long jump champion in 2012. In addition, she was the indoor champion over 60 meter hurdles in 2009 and 2013.
