Gréta Kerekes (born October 9, 1992 in Debrecen ) is a Hungarian hurdler who specializes in the 100 meter distance .

Athletic career

Gréta Kerekes competed in her first international championships at the 2009 World Youth Championships in Bressanone , where she was eliminated in the preliminaries over 100 meter hurdles with 14.39 seconds. Then she made it to the semifinals at the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Tampere , where she was eliminated with 14.15 seconds, but won the silver medal with the Hungarian 4 x 100 meter relay. In 2010 she took part in the Junior World Championships in Moncton and could not finish her preliminary run there. and retired with the Hungarian relay with 45.77 s in the first round. In 2011 she reached the semi-finals in the individual competition at the European Junior Championships in Tallinn, Estonia , where she was eliminated with 14.07 s and took sixth place with the Hungarian relay in 45.24 s. She then began studying at the University of Texas at El Paso and took part in the 2015 Summer Universiade in Gwangju , South Korea , where she was eliminated from the preliminary round with 14.23 seconds. In 2014, 2016 and 2017 Kerekes became the Hungarian champion in the 100 meter hurdles and from 2016 to 2019 she was the indoor champion in the 60 meter hurdles.
