Luca Kozák (born June 1, 1996 ) is a Hungarian hurdler who specializes in the 100 meter distance .

Athletic career

Luca Kozák competed in her first international championships at the 2013 Youth World Championships in Donetsk , where she finished seventh in the 100 meter hurdles in 13.62 seconds and in the Hungarian sprint relay (1000 meters) in 2: 09.32 minutes Reached sixth place. In the following year she reached the semi-finals at the Junior World Championships in Eugene , where she was eliminated with 13.58 s and in 2015 she won the silver medal behind Belarusian Elwira Herman at the European Junior Championships in Eskilstuna, Sweden, in 13.20 s . In 2016 she qualified for the World Indoor Championships in Portland , but was eliminated from the 60 meter hurdles with 8.46 s in the first round, as well as at the European Championships in Amsterdam in July with 13.20 s.

In 2017 she took part in the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade , where she reached the semifinals over 60 meter hurdles and was eliminated there with 8.27 seconds. At the U23 European Championships in Bydgoszcz she won the bronze medal over the hurdles behind the Dutch Nadine Visser and the Belarusian Herman in 13.06 s and finished sixth in the Hungarian 4 x 100 meter relay in 45.03 s . In August she took part in the World Championships in London and failed there with 13.17 s in the run-up . At the World Student Games in Taipei two weeks later, she won the bronze medal in 13.19 s behind Visser and Herman. In 2018 Kozák qualified for the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham , where she was eliminated in the semifinals with 8.24 s. In August she was eliminated from the European Championships in Berlin with 12.96 s in the semifinals and also did not reach the final with the Hungarian relay in 44.15 s. The following year she reached the final at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow over 60 m hurdles and set a new national record in the semifinals with 7.97 s. But then she was unable to take part in the final. In early October she reached the semi-finals at the World Championships in Doha , where she was eliminated with 12.87 s.

From 2018 to 2020 Kozák was the Hungarian champion in the 100-meter hurdles and in 2020 she also won the 100-meter run . In 2020 she won the 60 m hurdles in the hall.
