Cindy Billaud (born March 11, 1986 in Nogent-sur-Marne ) is a French athlete who specializes in hurdles .

Athletic career

Billaud reached the semi-finals in the 100-meter hurdles at the 2003 World Youth Championships in Sherbrook and at the 2004 Junior World Championships in Grosseto . Her first major international success was winning the bronze medal at the Junior European Championships 2005 in Kaunas.

From 2008 it began to establish itself in the adult sector. That year she was second at the French Indoor Championships in the 60-meter hurdles and took part in the Indoor World Championships in Valencia , where she ran into the semi-finals. In 2009 she won the national indoor championships and was seventh at the European Indoor Championships in Turin . After that, there were no significant international results for three years. She did not reach the finals over 100 meter hurdles either at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin or in Daegu in 2011 .

In 2013 Billaud was the first French champion in the 100-meter hurdles. At the World Championships in Moscow , she finished seventh. The following year she just missed a medal at the World Indoor Championships in Sopot , finishing fourth in the 60-meter hurdles. On July 12, 2014, Monique Éwanjé-Épée set the 24-year-old national record over 100 meter hurdles at the French Championships in Reims with a time of 12.56 seconds . In the final, she then won in 12.58 seconds. At the European Championships in Zurich , she won the silver medal behind Brit Tiffany Porter in 12.79 seconds .
