Reetta Hurske (born May 15, 1995 in Ikaalinen ) is a Finnish hurdler who specializes in the 100 meter hurdles .

Athletic career

Reetta Hurske gained her first international experience in 2011 at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Trabzon , where she took seventh place in the hurdles in 13.85 s and was eliminated in the preliminary round with the Finnish 4 x 100 meter relay with 47.78 s . Two years later she was at the Junior European Championships in Rieti in 13.53 s fifth and finished seventh with the relay in 47.18 s. In addition, she was eliminated in the long jump with 5.88 m in the qualification. In 2014 she reached seventh place in the Junior World Championships in Eugene in 13.69 s and in 2015 she was eliminated in the semifinals of the U23 European Championships in Tallinn with 13.66 s. In 2016 she qualified for the first time for the European Championships in Amsterdam , where she was eliminated in the semifinals with 13.40 seconds. The following year she was disqualified at the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade over 60-meter hurdles in the preliminary run and was then fifth in 13.32 s at the U23 European Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland . She then took part in the Summer Universiade in Taipei and was eliminated there with 13.67 s in the semifinals.

In 2018 she reached the semifinals at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham over 60-meter hurdles, in which she was eliminated with 8.20 seconds. In August she again took part in the European Championships in Berlin , where she was also eliminated with 13.20 s in the semi-finals. The following year she was fourth at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow in 8.02 s and in July she won the silver medal behind the Italian Luminosa Bogliolo at the Student World Games in Naples in 13.02 s .

In 2013 and 2018, Hurske became Finnish champion in the 4 x 200 meter relay.
