Nektaria Panagi (born March 20, 1990 in Larnaka ) is a Cypriot long jumper .

Athletic career

Her first international competition Nekataria Panagi denied at the Youth World Championships 2007 in Ostrava , where she was eliminated in the qualification. At the Games of the Small States of Europe (GSSE) in Monaco , however, she won the gold medal with 5.81 m at the age of 17. She repeated this success at the GSSE 2009 in Nicosia . At the Mediterranean Games in Pescara suie came fifth. At the Junior European Championships in Novi Sad shortly thereafter, however, she was eliminated in qualification. In 2011 she won gold for the third time at the GSSE in Schaan . In addition, she finished tenth in the final of the U23 European Championships in Ostrava. In 2012 she qualified for the European Championships in Helsinki , where she could not qualify for the final. In 2013 she won the GSSE in Luxembourg and the Mediterranean Games in Mersin .

In 2014 she qualified for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow , where she finished seventh in the final. At the European Championships in Zurich she was eliminated again with 6.12 m in qualification. In 2015 she took part in the Universiade in Gwangju , where she narrowly missed a medal as fourth. In 2016 she qualified for the European Championships in Amsterdam , where she again failed to reach the final. In 2017 she qualified for the first time for the World Championships in London , where she was eliminated with 6.43 m in qualification . A few weeks later she took part in the World Student Games in Taipei for the second time and won the silver medal there behind the Romanian Alina Rotaru .

In 2018 Panagi again took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast and finished sixth there with 6.44 m. At the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona she was fourth with a width of 6.61 m and reached eleventh place in the final at the European Championships in Berlin with 6.29 m.

In 2011, 2016 and 2017, Panagi became the Cypriot champion in the long jump.
