Ship from Kyrenia

The official mascot of the event is Tefkros (English: Teukros), an anthropomorphic pigeon . The name is said to remind of the mythological ruler of Cyprus Teukros , son of Telamon and Hesione from Salamis and famous as an excellent archer.

The logo of the games is a stylized representation of the ship of Kyrenia , a national symbol of Cyprus. Both the mascot and the logo were designed by Pericles Christoforides and presented to the public on May 14, 2008.
