The decathlon men at the 2012 European Athletics Championships was on 27 and 28 July 2012 at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys the city of Helsinki held.
European champion was the German Pascal Behrenbruch . The Ukrainian Oleksiy Kasjanow won the silver medal. Bronze went to the Russian Ilya Schkurenjow .

execution
The decathlon was carried out according to the same rules as today. The ten disciplines took place over two days.
- Day 1: July 27th - 100 m / long jump / shot put / high jump / 400 m
- Day 2: July 28th - 110 m hurdles / discus throw / pole vault / javelin throw / 1500 m
The rating was based on the 1985 point table, which is still valid today.
