The men's 400-meter hurdles at the 2012 European Athletics Championships was held from June 27 to 29, 2012 in the Olympic Stadium in the Finnish capital Helsinki .

European champion was the British European Championship runner-up in 2010 Rhys Williams . He won before the Serbian Emir Bekrić . Bronze went to Stanislaw Melnykow from the Ukraine, who was third in the European Championship in 2010 .

Preliminary round

The preliminary round was carried out in six runs. The first three athletes per run - highlighted in light blue - as well as the six fastest runners - highlighted in light green - qualified for the semi-finals.
