The heptathlon for women in the 2012 European Athletics Championships was on 29 and 30 June 2012 at the Olympic Stadium in the Finnish capital Helsinki held.

In this competition the Latvian heptathletes won two medals with silver and bronze. The European champion was Antoinette Nana Djimou from France . Silver went to Laura Ikauniece . Aiga Grabuste came third .

doping

In the heptathlon , there was a doping case:
The Ukrainian lyudmyla yosypenko , originally second, was later caught as doping sinner and locked until the 2017th She had to surrender her silver medal.

Mourner was primarily the Latvian Aiga Grabuste who received her medal only belatedly and could not attend the award ceremony.

The seven disciplines of the heptathlon took place over two days, here is the schedule:

The rating was based on the 1985 point table, which is still valid today.
