Györgyi Zsivoczky-Farkas (born February 13, 1985 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian heptathlete .

Athletic career

In 2001 Farkas took part for the first time in a major international event, the World Youth Championships in Debrecen , and achieved seventh place there. At the Junior World Championships in Kingston , she was tenth. In 2004 she finished seventh at the Junior World Championships . In 2005 she was 16 at the U23 European Championships in 2013 in Erfurt . She started in 2008 for the first time at the Summer Olympics , which she finished in Beijing in 28th place.

In 2012 she finished 14th at the European Championships in Helsinki and qualified for the Olympic Games in London , which this time she finished in 21st place . In 2013 she won the silver medal at the World Student Games in Kazan and took 15th place at the World Championships in Moscow . In 2014 she took part in the European Championships again and finished tenth in Zurich . In 2015 she reached sixth place at the European Indoor Championships in Prague , the same place she achieved at the World Championships in Beijing . In 2016, she took part in the World Indoor Championships in Portland , where she was fifth. At the European Championships in Amsterdam in July 2016 , she finished fifth. With her performance, she also qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, where she finished eighth with a new best .

At the European Indoor Championships 2017 , Zsivoczky-Farkas won the bronze medal with a new personal best of 4723 points.

She is also multiple Hungarian state champion in heptathlon and long jump.

Her husband and trainer is the former decathlete and high jumper Attila Zsivoczky .
