Remona Fransen (* 25. November 1985 in Dordrecht ) is a Dutch athlete , referring to the heptathlon specializes. Her strongest individual disciplines include the high jump and the long jump . She is 1.89 m tall, weighs 71 kg and starts for AV De Spartaan in Lisse . Fransen works as a physiotherapist in Leiden .

Athletic career

At the national level, Fransen celebrated its first successes as a youth and junior since 2001. She won her first adult title in 2004 in the 4 x 400 meter relay . In 2008 and 2009 she became Dutch champion in heptathlon, in 2010 in long jump, high jump and indoor pentathlon .

Since 2003, Fransen has represented the Netherlands several times in the heptathlon at the European Athletics Cup of all-rounders . In 2010 she won in Hengelo with 5993 points in the so-called 1st League, the second highest competition class of the European Cup, and achieved personal bests in six individual disciplines. Her most important success to date was when she won the bronze medal in the pentathlon with 4665 points at the 2011 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Paris. In addition to personal best indoor performances in all five individual disciplines, she set a Dutch indoor record in the high jump of 1.92 m.
