The heptathlon for women in the 1986 European Athletics Championships on 29 and 30 August 1986 in Stuttgart Neckarstadion discharged.

GDR athlete Anke Behmer , former Anke's father , became European champion . Natalya Schubenkova from the USSR took second place . Bronze went to the Briton Judy Simpson .

Day 1 - August 29: 100-meter hurdles , high jump , shot put , 200-meter run
Day 2 - August 30: long jump , javelin , 800-meter run

The rating was based on the 1985 point table, which is still valid today.
